I grew up in the Sunbury Community and graduated from Big Walnut Schools in 1997. I attended college and graduated with an associate in Business management. I then went into the financial services industry and ended up as Assistant Vice President working on a Federal Contract. My career was going great but I also wanted a Family. In 2008 I bought my first home and got married and in 2009 I had my amazing son. I decided to take a step back from my career to be a mom, it is the most rewarding job I could have asked for but I missed working and structures and deadlines and the interactions with others. In 2010 My now ex husband deployed to Afghanistan. I was stuck at home no emotional support, not working and alone. My parents asked me to come run their office for them so I agreed. It gave me a few hours every day to get out of the house but it was a home office so I was still missing the interactions and felt more alone than ever. My son and I started going to our local Kroger and would spend an hour or two there every day. Kroger became our support group. It was amazing the friends we had made and the support the employees gave my son and I but it wasn’t enough. I put together a power point presentation for my father begging him to let me open up a shipping business in his warehouse facility in Sunbury, Ohio. After a lot of consideration, my dad agreed. When my now ex Husband returned from his deployment my father gave me use of his office in his warehouse and $180,000.00 worth of equipment for me to open a printing and shipping shop. He was hoping it would give us as a family a chance to reconnect. My now ex husband had no interest in the business so my son and I made a go at it. A year later I was divorced. I did not know much about the printing and shipping industry but I was excited and willing to learn. I have had my business a little over 5 years now. It is continuing to grow and I’m blessed to be able to work and provide for my son in such a great community.
