We’re a pop-up, outdoor cinema holding drive-in and walk-in cinema events throughout the beautiful Peak District and beyond. We’re 100% mobile. We want to make outdoor cinema available to everyone. Everywhere.
We’ve previously held 2 screenings successfully, both Haloween events: Shaun of the Dead, and Corpse Bride. These were both drive in events, where viewers tune their radios into the audio which is then played through their car speaker while they watch on the giant screen (5m x 7m image!).
Unfortunatly, we have had to cancel all our other screenings due to our screen not being strong enough to stand up to any significant winds. This is where you and crowdfunder come in…
We’re looking to work with a UK based company to replace our cheap, budget and damaged screen which we purchased to kick the project off, but it’s too expensive for us to be able to continue. We need £3100 to purchase the new, thicker, stronger and overall much better screen to complete our set up. We’re reluctant to quit on the project, as we’ve built a good following and have had a good response to previous screenings, however, having just got married, we’re not in a position to afford a replacement screen.
If we get the funding, and are able to purchase the screen, our ultimate aims are:
– Hold both drive in and conventional outdoor screenings
– Take film to isolated locations, allowing people to experience cinema who otherwise may not be able to
– Hold screenings at amazing locations, and encourage people to explore those locations
– Promote local film makers
– Work with schools and youth groups to screen their films
Thanks,
