by Francois Keyser
I am the author of “The Junglies” series of children’s books. I left my corporate career in 2010 to become an author which was my lifelong dream.
When I first started out as an author I wrote 5 children’s books and decided to self publish the first book. This included printing 3,300+ copies of my first book titled, “Tiger Loses His Stripes”. These books are currently warehoused in Ashland, Ohio. As I am not resident in the USA, nor a citizen of the USA, I have not been able to sell the copies of my book.
I have now found Book Masters International Inc. in the USA who will distribute my book to the major retailers. For this I need to pay a one time set up fee of US$495 plus ancilliary costs which include registering a new ISBN number which then needs to be put on the books using stickers.
Since this is my first book ever, I would prefer to sell the books as opposed to recycling them. If I sell them they will have more value for children and I will be able to give some away as well for literacy programs.
The book offers young readers a lesson about honesty and is a good platform to introduce learning about endangered species as each character represented by an animal in the book has at least one subspecies which is endangered.
The characters in the book are all animals except for their game warden friend. The theme of “Unity in Diversity” is represented by the animals in the book being best friends despite being different. The theme is further supported by the game warden’s relationship with the animals.
This book and the next four which I have written were published by US publisher Speaking Volumes LLC last year in eBook format. I have also had the book translated and published as an eBook in multiple languages and produced as an AudioBook.
