I am Zandra, a 15 year old high school sophomore. My mother Tamara is a trained mortuary scientist and practice management consultant. By day she and I go to school and manage a huge Chiropractic office, but by night we run Zandra. I run track, play golf and love to eat good food. I really love spending time with my family and my dogs; Mister and Sunni. I am passionate about creating opportunities for girls that don’t have access to all that I do. I want to be a voice for them to open the doors where they can create and build something great for themselves and their community.
When I was little I was obsessed with lip balm; I couldn’t get enough. My dad got tired of buying it for me and facetiously told me to “make it yourself!”. To his surprise I started experimenting in my kitchen and selling it on the street. From that, my mom and I started our first business, Azariah’s Innocence. Since then, I have increased profit for the last few years, I have been named ambassador of International Day of the Girl and I have been voted “Coolest kidprenuer in America” by Girl’s Life Magazine and Nickelodeon, I have been featured in major national publications such as Black Enterprise, Seventeen Magazine and Girl’s Life Magazine; I even received a proclamation from our city Mayor.

More about this loan
Zandra is an all-natural skin care manufacturing company for pre-teen and teenagers. Each product has an inspirational quote that girls can read to encourage themselves daily. We are proud of our campaigns to give back to our community by providing free DIY soap/scrub making workshops to young girls. We are also very proud of our charitable contributions of 10% of our net profits from our top selling scent going to girl’s education. Like many entrepreneurs, our business started right in our kitchen at home. After some time we outgrew that space as quickly as her dad outgrew his patience. We moved into a small business incubator space and were able to connect with other makers and learn more about running our business properly. In March of 2015, Zandra hosted the grand opening of our current production studio. Its 1300 sq. feet of amazing! Today, at 15 years old Zandra and I have built a business that continues to grow. We offer creative making classes, party bookings, and our products are sold in boutique stores across the country and online. Our next step is to expand production and partner with larger retailers.
