GYDA NYC – a capsule outerwear collection created using latest tech trends #lasercutting #3Dprinting

The GYDA label was established with the vision of reimagining the current perceptions of production techniques and use of materials through the prism of high-technology. To accomplish our vision, we’re using unusual textiles and the latest technology available in the fashion industry. We’re developing our models using software for production on laser cutters including 3D-printing technology

WOMEN TRANSPARENT WHITE BOMBER

MEN SEMI-TRANSPARENT BLACK BOMBER

The GYDA NYC capsule collection consists of two pieces: male and female outwear garments limited to just 1000 pieces each. The inspiration behind the collection was found in minimalistic shapes and contrasting textures of modern architecture: glass and concrete, metal and stone. Designer plays with same contrasts in the collection: transparent and non-transparent textiles, dense and light textures

Neoprene is usually used for the production of wet suits. It sheds water like a duck, making it an ideal outdoor material. It provides great protection against a vast range of conditions, including rain, snow, sand and dust. The neoprene we use is made using a limestone base instead of petroleum, which makes it the most environmentally responsible choice currently available on the market.

TPU or Thermoplastic Polyurethane is very similar to other plastics like PVC (polyvinyl chloride) or PUL (polyurethane laminate), which although they are not breathable fabrics, are designed to keep in liquids they also prevent air from flowing in and out as well. With TPU being a waterproof fabric, airflow is allowed. The main difference is that TPU is heat bonded instead of chemical bonded, which means that it’s better at biodegrading. However, what is most exciting about TPU is the feel – it’s extremely soft and far more fabric like. In fact, it feels like your second skin.
