We are looking to raise money to purchase a fully automatic defibrillator to be based at our home ground at Sandy Lane in Dawlish.
Dawlish United is one of the largest Football Clubs in Devon, with teams ranging from under 7 all the way through to adults, including two girls’ teams. As an FA Charter Standard Community Club, we have achieved the highest club accreditation from Devon FA and are one of only 16 clubs in the County with this accreditation.
With well over 200 players and 20 plus coaches registered with the club, our aim is to provide fun and safe football activity for the children and adults of the local area.
All of our coaches meet FA requirements and have FA CRC checks as well FA Safeguarding Children And FA Emergency First Aid workshop qualifications.
Whilst these qualifications would help our coaches to deal with a minor injury during training or a match, we currently have no provision to be able to deal with a more serious situation. This is why we have decided as a club that we would like to purchase a fully automatic defibrillator to station at our home ground at Sandy Lane.

This would be placed in an easy to reach location and as it is fully automatic, no specific training is needed to use it as the machine itself does most of the work. We would hope to never have to use it, but it would be a huge piece of mind for our coaches, players and parents knowing that it is there should it ever be required in an emergency.
There is no doubting that a defibrillator can only be a good addition for any sporting venue so we hope you will support us in raising the money to purchase one.
Based at Sandy Lane, the club is proud to have such a great facility to call home and have carried out extensive renovation of the venue since taking over the lease four years ago. We have done a lot to improve the site since taking over at the cost of not only hard cash but also hours and hours of our club volunteers’ time.
These improvements have helped make the place feel more like home, but now we feel it’s time to ensure we have the best action plan in place in case of an emergency. We have revamped the clubs policy and protocol on dealing with injuries and potential emergencies and have decided an essential part of this would be to house a defibrillator at the venue.
The club is run as a non-profit making organisation and therefore we need the help of local people and companies to help us to purchase a defibrillator.
Whether your donation is £5, £10 or more… every donation will be a massive contribution towards our goal of buying a defibrillator and helping to keep our players safe.
For every donation, there are rewards as our way of saying thank you. These include a shout out on our Facebook page, a Nike Football or your chance to have your own ‘Thank You’ plaque which will be on display at our home ground.
Every donation of £10 and above will also be entered into our prize draw with prizes including:
– Sir Geoff Hurst signed football
– Nike football boots
– Nike trainers
– Gift Vouchers
and loads more……
Thank you for your support, and please share the message to help us raise these much needed funds.
