The second grade students at our school are fun and excited to learn. Our community is unique in that it about half of the students live in poverty and come from struggling families. The other half of the community comes from involved families with a desire to provide their children with enriching activities. The students at our school come from a strong and supportive community that cares about improving the lives of the diverse learners we teach.
All of the students at our school are creative, energetic, motivated, and love to learn.
They are AMAZING!
BreakoutEDU is a fun and engaging learning opportunity. Students work in teams to find clues and solve puzzles. The solutions that they find are used to unlock boxes and their learning. The tools needed for this activity are 3 digit number locks, word locks, uv lights, and invisible ink pens. To be successful at breaking out students use mathematical practices and problem solving strategies. Another skill students learn when participating in breakouts is perseverance. They learn to work hard and persist in their learning. BreakoutEDU activities can be applied to all content areas and students can use these materials in reading, math, science, social studies, and health. I love that students will be learning without realizing it. They will be having so much fun learning skills that will help them throughout their lives all while having fun.
