NSO Young People’s Concerts

A CHARITABLE FUNDRAISER BY

THE JOHN F. KENNEDY CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS

Help children develop a lifelong love of the performing arts by supporting the National Symphony Orchestra Young People’s Concerts!

NEW UPDATE

POSTED 10 DAYS AGO

Thanks to generous supporters, we met our initial goal of raising $15,000 to send as many as 1,000 local children to the upcoming NSO Young People’s Concerts after only 6 days! However, our work is far from done. Because of the importance of this program we are extending the campaign and doubling our goal, ensuring more children can be exposed to music through these life-changing concerts. Thank you for your generosity!

How do our NSO Young People’s Concertshelp kids? In all areas of life.

As America’s national cultural center, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts is committed to introducing the performing arts to new audiences. Today, you can help us do that.

We initially started this campaign with one goal – to raise enough money to send as many as 1,000 local elementary school children to experience a world-class NSO musical performance and explore the creative processes behind the music they hear at our upcoming Young People’s Concerts.

Most of these children have never attended a concert with a full orchestra. And without programs like the NSO Young People’s Concerts many children would otherwise be unable to attend an NSO concert. Having the chance to see the orchestra live helps them develop a lasting love of the performing arts, and helps them in all areas of life, including math, science, and critical thinking.

Thanks to your overwhelming support, that initial goal has been achieved! We’ll have invited as many children as we have room for at our upcoming series of Young People’s Concerts. However, our work is not done. Because of the importance of this program, we have increased our goal to $30,000. The NSO Young People’s Concerts are a key piece of our arts education work, and are something we are committed to season after season. Your support today can help ensure the continuation of this vital program, and ensure these concerts are always available to the children for whom this exposure to music is so critical.

Why crowdfunding? The NSO Young People’s Concerts are designed to engage new audiences and we want to do the same. Crowdfunding gives us an outlet to reach people who care about this important program that we may not connect with in other ways. Many of us can remember transformative school field trips like the NSO Young People’s Concerts and we want DC-area kids to have access to the same inspiring experiences.

These concerts can change a child’s life forever through artistic appreciation. And when we spark the magic of music in children, we reach into the future and ignite the next generation of audiences and artists alike.

So please help give local children the opportunity to experience a life-changing NSO concert by supporting the NSO’s Young People’s Concerts with your most generous contribution. A contribution of any amount to our Young People’s Concerts opens new doors of artistic and educational discovery for local children.

THANK YOU to everyone who has already donated for giving kids in the DC area the gift of music.
