Future Tech aims to put technology through exciting STEM activities into the hands of disadvantaged children in our school district.
The idea behind Future Tech is simple – get technology in the hands of the most-deserving kids from the most under-served areas of our District. We want to generate excitement for STEM in a relaxed, fun environment. We want to keep kids thinking and learning during the summer months. And we want to help them develop the skills that will prepare them for the job market of the near future. To that end, we will be incorporating computer science, unmanned aerial vehicle technology, and 3-D printing. Students will be conducting a project in hydroponics as well, and even learn how to operate a motorized telescope.
We know how to get kids excited about STEM and we know how to motivate them to learn. Future Tech will be a success. We have a proven track record and we have the backing of the schools, the community, and even the local city government. Help us make this happen!
Thank-you.
With the backing of the city and school, and with our combined experience, we don’t anticipate any serious risks. We simply won’t allow such risks to form. Mr.Jeter has been conducting a science camp for over a decade that has served thousands of young people without incident. Mr. Junco has safely taught his drone course this year and taught Chemistry for many years without incident as well.
There are challenges, of course, when trying to motivate kids in the summertime! But they will be motivated. You can’t pilot one of these drones without being thrilled and we are going to incorporate a variety of techniques, such as friendly competitions, to encourage them further. We are both hard workers. There are many things to plan and do in preparation for the camp, but we have the know-how and diligence to overcome any obstacles.
