LOS ANGELES, CA – February 4, 2016 – (HISPANICIZE WIRE) – Venezuelan-born Vine superstar and entrepreneur Lele Pons will be honored with the Latinovator Award at this year’s seventh annual Hispanicize event on Tuesday, April 5th in Miami. Pons has more than 10 million followers on Vine and videos generating over 7.7 billion loops. Featured in TIME, Vanity Fair, The New York Times, and numerous other major media outlets, Pons has become one of the most recognizable names in the world.

“Lele is not only one of the most gifted and accomplished teens but a power player in the social media world. She is a proud Latina who at just 19 years old already personifies the talent and industry that all Hispanic Americans have to offer our great nation,” said Manny Ruiz, Founder and Creative Director of Hispanicize.

Pons got her start when she created a page on the video-sharing app Vine in December 2013. Originally intended as a fun outlet to showcase her creativity, her vines evolved into comedic sketches and pulling practical jokes on family and friends.

With no signs of slowing down, she ended 2015 with a personal invitation from First Lady Michelle Obama to visit The White House.

Lele will receive her Latinovator Award the same day her new book “Surviving High School” a hilarious, heartfelt novel debuts nationally.

Established in 2012, the Latinovator Awards recognize Latino celebrities, business professionals and other high achievers who have become crossover successes or whose stories of achievements are remarkable or inspirational. This year, Lele joins a prestigious roster of Latinovator Award recipients that includes Ozzie Areu and Lizzie Velasquez. Each of the innovators will be presented individually with their awards at a special general session and discuss their inspirations, challenges, business habits and road to success.

Previous Latinovator recipients include acting legend Rita Moreno, television icon Don Francisco, veteran actor Luis Guzman, blogger Dulce Candy, journalist Soledad O’Brien, iconic producer Emilio Estefan, news anchor Maria Elena Salinas, famed musician Sheila E., Cuban, dissident blogger Yoani Sanchez, actor Carlos Ponce and others.
