Bringing Balance into Education
Why?
– A recent Department for Education survey highlighted that over 35% of children in year 10 have been bullied;
– A further survey by The British Chambers of Commerce has highlighted that schools are not preparing young people for the workplace and life in general;
– In response to this, the Chair of the House of Commons Education Committee, Neil Carmichael, has recently called for the teaching of life skills (or PSHE) to be made compulsory. HYLI teaches these skills and we need your support to do our work.
Our Aim?
Our aim is to run a life skills workshop for every child in Cornwall, one class at at time. Every £10 donated pays for one Key Stage 2 level child to attend a full day workshop, covering a range of topics such as healthy eating, social media safety, bullying and financial awareness.
With your help we can make this happen!
