Project Warm Winter – Flint: Providing for the people in need of warmth in the blistering cold of Michigan

iCrowdNewswire - Nov 28, 2015

Project Warm Winter – Flint

Coming This Winter: Lending A Hand To Those Who Need It The Most:

Our Story

Flint, Michigan is known for its cold, blistering winters and for its high rates of poverty. Every corner you look at you see homeless people on the street. Even though there are several organizations that are trying their best to give shelter to those who need it, there is still a lot to do. The Muslim Student’s Association, an active group, at the University of Michigan-Flint has decided to take the initiative to make winter care packages for the homeless here in our city. It is time to help our community in order to make a difference. We have paired up with several homeless shelters to ensure the right packages are being made and we are efficiently able to help different ages and genders across downtown flint.

The Impact

In the winter months of Flint, Michigan the temperature drops to bitterly cold levels. Sadly there are many homeless people not fortunate enough to have simple winter necessities such as warm blankets and hats, let alone gloves and socks. The UofM-Flint Muslim Student Association is readily trying to help those in need in the unforgiving Michigan winters, the homeless need these essentials. Please join us in helping them.

The Project

MSA at UM-Flint plans on buying all the items by December 18th. So far we plan on purchasing items such as: Gloves, Hats, Thermal Socks, Scarves, Lotion, and Heat Packs. These items are vital in order to get through winter safely/comfortably.

“Those who spend their money in the night and in the day, secretly and openly, they will have their reward with their Lord, there is no fear over them nor will they grieve”
