We are raising money for the Greek Nursey and Primary School of London which, as a charity, relies solely on donations. The old, period building has 7 classrooms, includng art, ICT, music rooms, toilet, kitchen facilities and a small playground.
Because of the national crisis in Greece many parents have come to London to make a longterm secure life here. This has nearly doubled the schools student intake and increased class sizes to 14-18 per class. This demand has highlighted the urgent need for more modern teaching aids and equipment to provide our children with a better learning experience.
The children, especially this year those making the difficult change to a new country and a new language, thrive on the small, warm family environment the school promotes. The dedicated staff nurture each child to reach its full educational potential and character.
The school’s latest overall Ofsted Report rating is ‘Good’ . The school is keen to increase this rating to ‘ outstanding’. This can be achieved with better teaching resources and facilities.
Our initial priority is to install interactive whiteboards into every class to enchance the childrens learning experience.
Secondly we propose to build a permanent outside shelter in the playground. This will be used for PE and for wet play times as the classrooms are very small and there is no hall.
THIS IS WHERE YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
By donating an amount, big or small, you can be part of this creative force. Your contribution will benefit our children and help them take their steps to enter the adult world with qualifications and confidence assured of their ability to make a positive, educated contribution to their environment.
On completion of these first two targets the PTA will share on line progress reports, results and photographs so the donors may diretly see the results of their generosity.
