As it was in previous years, Gatuna- The Feminine Tuna of Minho University- presents once again her Festival, Trovas, which will take place on the next 21st of November at nine pm in Theatro Circo.
Trovas is known as one of the best Tuna festivals and it has established itself throughout the years, as an icon of Minho Culture. Gatuna organises it every year as a gift not only for the people of Braga, as well as for anyone that wishes to visit our beautiful city. Besides the show itself there will also be a parade of the participant Tunas- the so known Pasacalles- that takes place during the afternoon of the day of the show, as well as many activities related with the theme for this year’s Trovas- The Radio. We promise to fill both the city of Braga and Teatro Circo with color, music and shine, being that this will be a special year for us seeing that we are celebrating the XXth edition of Trovas.
So you can understand what our Trovas is all about, we invite all of you to come visit us in our Youtube channel and see this following video.
In an attempt to broaden and modify the long tradition of masculine tunas, was born the idea of creating a Feminine Tuna. So, throughout dinners, follies and a great desire to sing until our voices are heard no more, Gatuna was created. And that was 22 years ago!
With a rather curious name and a very particular way of being a tuna, complemented by its original music, Gatuna has been conquering a solid place across the university music landscape. Her performances are always with a typical sobriety allied with the traditional Minho irreverence.
In our long résumé we include countless festivals, parties and a bookcase filled with awards. And we did not limit our adventures to Portugal, we have travelled abroad to Canada, Ireland and Swiss.
To everyone that wishes to keep up with our “gatroubles”, can do so through our Facebook page and also ourInstagram.
