Chilango is an award-winning chain of 9, soon to be 10, quick-service Mexican restaurants based in London. Last time we went out to the crowd, over 700 people gobbled up our Burrito Bond, investing over £2 million into the company. Now, we have our eyes set on a bigger prize, as we gear up to open Chilango in cities throughout the UK, and even internationally.
Your investment in Chilango will go towards this next phase of our journey, helping us open new restaurants in the UK , while we continue to pursue our first international partnerships.
Several existing and former industry executives have already invested in the round, including the Chairman of Carluccio’s, the former CEOs of Domino’s Pizza UK and Krispy Kreme UK, the International Business Development Director of Jamie Oliver Restaurant Group, the former MDs of Costa Coffee and Itsu, and the former VP of Marketing for McDonald’s UK.
Over 20,000 people a week visit our restaurants to enjoy a range of tasty meals including burritos, tacos, nachos, and salads. Chilango combines the flavours and quality you traditionally associate with a sit-down restaurant with the speed, price-point, and convenience you look for in a quick service restaurant. The best of both worlds.
OUR STORY
Everyone has a favourite food. For us it’s Mexican.
Eric grew up on Mexican food over in Chicago, one of the largest Hispanic communities in America. Then Dan followed suit, becoming a Mexican food addict during his travels throughout the US and Mexico.
In 2005, Dan and Eric started working together at Skype and soon discovered their shared passion for Mexican food. The only problem? Finding good Mexican food in London was like finding a needle in a haystack. The only solution? Quit their jobs and make it their mission to bring a stampede of flavours to the UK.
In 2007, we opened our first restaurant on Upper Street in London. It wasn’t easy. There were the 4am trips to Smithfield Market several times a week to buy meat. There were the gruelling, 16-hour days. There were the times we thought we got it right, but got it all wrong. But then again there were the thousands of smiling and satisfied faces of our guests.
Thanks to this popularity we now have restaurants in some of London’s prime areas, including Upper Street, Fleet Street, Chancery Lane, London Wall, Spitalfields Market, Leather Lane, Monument, Camden High Street, London Bridge, and soon, Soho – and with many more restaurants planned across the UK, and even the world.
We’ve assembled an all-star team to help us on the next stage of our journey. We’d like to invite you to become part of the story!
