To make this visually captivating, inspiring, and meaningful project a reality, we need YOU. Check out the great “thank you gifts” and cool opportunities we are offering in exchange for your contributions.
BACKGROUND:
For years, NYC-based parkour athlete, Max Henry, and Francis Lyons, an executive producer of MTV’s award winning series MADE and co-founder of the WFPF and Know Obstacles parkour lifestyle brand, searched for a project through which the parkour community could share the broader lessons learned from movement training, specifically, how physical obstacles increases health, peace, and balance in all of life.
In 2014, while working on a project in South Africa, Francis was deeply moved by the water crisis that families around the world struggle to overcome every day.
After sharing his experience with Max, they reached out to long time WFPF member Nicholas Coolridge, Ninja Warrior Meagan Martin, and Movement Creative founder Jesse Danger all of whom enthusiastically came on board to use their talents to raise awareness for this issue. ‘iKnowObstacles: Water Crisis’ was created to use the power of parkour to educate and hopefully inspire future leaders (young adults and children) to find solutions.
To insure we connect with viewers and the students we meet, we want to include your experiences and stories. Please go to http://www.knowobstacles.com/pages/SHARE and tell us how parkour, obstacle course, or movement training has changed the way you see the world. Many of those stories will appear in the movie!
We are honored that our project was selected by the Ovation Television Network to be a finalist in their Creative Studio contest but we don’t want to stop there. Any money we raise beyond the goal we set will be used to bring more celebrity athletes to Africa raising the profile of our film and allowing us to share more stories of how movement training has and will change lives around the planet.
Bear in mind RocketHub is not an investment or charity. It is an exchange: funds from supporters for goods from us.
We know the power parkour has to capture people’s attention and we know how close knit and passionate our community is…we look forward to working with you to try and make a difference.
