the project

BEYOND 7/2: The journey begins 2016.

GET READY FOR THE EXPLORERS GRAND SLAM.

Professional endurance athlete, Colin O’Brady, will become the fastest person to complete the Explorers Grand Slam. He will climb the “Seven Summits,” the tallest peak on each of the seven continents, and trek to the North and South Poles in uninterrupted succession.

Only 42 people have ever completed this staggering achievement, and only two in under a year.

To claim the prize, Colin will face dire challenges such as limited oxygen and the bitter cold temperatures of the polar regions. This epic endeavor will be a true test of physical and mental resilience, and one that will redefine the limits of human endurance.

Colin will complete the entire expedition in a world record shattering six months, also becoming the youngest in history to complete the Explorers Grand Slam.

Colin faces this challenge all for a larger purpose. The goal of raising awareness for the fight against childhood obesity in America will fuel his mission.

Today in America, one out of three children and adolescents is overweight or obese, putting them at risk for serious health problems. Colin is excited to champion this cause as he has reaped the benefits of healthy eating and exercise in his own life.

Colin hopes that his record-breaking performance across two Poles and seven continents will inspire today’s youth to lead healthy, active lives and pursue their own dreams.

BEYOND 7/2 aims to raise $1 million to combat childhood obesity in partnership with The Alliance for a Healthier Generation.

the steps

We are almost there in securing total funding for the expedition costs of the project. While this is 100% a non-profit venture, there are hard costs asssociated with completeing the world record. We’ve had some generous sponsors come on board to support the project but we need a few more funders to make this project possible. Once expedition costs are met, every dollar raised will be donated to our charitable partner, the Alliance for a Healthier Generation and used for their programs to support childhood health and curb the obesity epidemic.

why we’re doing it
