Muizenberg Festival Presents:
Project Ripple 2015
Project Ripple is a series of performances that will animate Muizenberg’s
public spaces and inspire its vibrant community

Project Ripple is inspired by Cape Town’s annual public arts festival ‘Infecting the City’ but plans to go a step further by initiating a creative chain reaction in the most creative hub of Cape Town: Muizenberg.

Literally taking theatre to the streets to make it accessible to all, Project Ripple aims to populate and activate Muizenberg’s spaces with public expression-dancing, drama, music, art, acrobatics, capoeira, you name it! Our program is filling up fast with extremely talented individuals and groups- all with fascinating and entertaining concepts they’re ready to put into action.

Fortunately, it doesn’t end there. We want the Ripples to continue long after the Muizenberg Festival is over which is why we want to show our support to the following performance organizations doing incredible work:

– Alive Dance Studio (www.alivedancestudio.co.za)
– ASSITEJ (www.assitej.org.za)
– Hand in Hand Creatives (www.facebook.com/handinhandcreatives)
– Theatre4change Therapeutic Theatre (www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeC-sG1GxUw)

Everyday, through their work, they inspire, support and uplift their communities through performance arts which is why we hope to raise enough to donate to them.

Alive Dance Studio, ASSITEJ and Hand in Hand Creatives have all done workshops, classes and continuously work with children from Vrygrond, an informal settlement located near Muizenberg. We would love many of these children to join in Project Ripple either by observing or participating themselves. This is why we want to arrange transport and snacks for as many of them as possible to attend Project Ripple performances.

Please support our campaign- whether it’s through spreading the word, buying a reward, participating, or attending performances. Any contribution is greatly appreciated as it’s one step closer to making something amazing happen…together. This is Project Ripple 2015.
