Glasgow, UK – August 11, 2015 – Scratch Ideas is changing the way professional, indie and fledgling filmmakers capture dynamic, creative shots. Their flagship product, LOKI, is small enough to slot into a camera bag alongside all your existing gear, but can then transform between a shoulder rig, camera cage, underslung rig and even a dolly. The serrated steel locking plates on all the articulated joints allow for an incredible amount of versatility so it is easy to come up with really creative ways to shoot stable, dynamic shots on a rig that will not slip once set-up.
Camera rigs should be easy to carry, easy to set up and easy to use. That’s why LOKI can be left attached to the camera as you scout for that perfect shot, then set-up or transformed between modes in seconds. It is a rig that allows the photographer to achieve more with less. “Life happens quickly, and it’s important to be able to respond accordingly and not waste time moving your camera between different rigs and then setting them up before filming. LOKI adapts to you, not the other way around.” explains creator, Matt Marais.
When travelling to a shoot, LOKI and all its modular attachments can slot into a camera bag alongside the cameras, lenses and other gear. This means that it is no longer necessary to carry around a number of different traditional rigs which can be bulky and heavy.
LOKI is great for filming everything from music or skate videos to professional documentaries or video journalism. It has even been field tested by the British Army Photographers due to its portability, robust design and versatility. When carrying all their gear, LOKI still allows for a range of stable shots to be captured wherever they might end up.
LOKI is also incredibly strong, lightweight and robust. It has been designed from the ground up to be the rig that can always be carried along. The entire product has been precision machined from aluminium with serrated steel locking plates on all of the joints.
