ORLANDO, FL – Todd Wilcox, an Orlando-based entrepreneur, combat veteran and veteran of the CIA with first-hand knowledge of America’s war on terrorism is announcing his intentions to run in the Republican Primary for Florida’s open U.S. Senate seat currently held by Marco Rubio. His video announcement can be found at www.ToddWilcox2016.com.
Wilcox stated, “It’s time to restore America’s prominence both here at home and abroad. The economy is growing at a dismal rate. More businesses are closing than are opening for the first time in our nation’s history. Our personal freedoms are under attack by an intrusive executive branch in the name of national security, and our foreign policy decisions have resulted in our friends not trusting us and our enemies not fearing us.
It’s not just time for a new generation of leaders, it’s time for new leadership altogether. If we expect to change the direction of our country, Florida’s next U.S. Senator cannot come from the same political class who are already running Washington, DC. We need leadership with real-world experience, whose sole priority is restoring America’s prominence, not getting re-elected or running for the next political office,” said Wilcox.
Wilcox grew up in Central Florida and graduated from the University of Tampa. He served in combat as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army during Operation Desert Storm and later commanded a Special Forces A-team as a Green Beret. After 8 years of military service, Todd resigned his commission to accept a position with the CIA and saw combat for a second time in the Middle East in America’s global war on terrorism. While completing two years of Arabic studies and then serving in various US Embassy postings in the Middle East
and North Africa, Todd was also raising two daughters on his own as a single parent. His last assignment with the CIA was on the Joint Terrorism Task Force in the FBI field office in Orlando.
Wilcox is a devoted husband, father of three daughters and is the founder and President of Patriot Defense
Group (PDG), a defense contracting company dedicated to serving those who defend America. He also founded two other companies and the combined business operations of Patriot Capital over the past nine years range
from specialized security training for U.S. Special Operations Forces to cyber security services for corporate clients and the ground delivery of the US Postal mail to our troops in Afghanistan. This year, Wilcox was named an Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist.
“As a father, businessman and combat veteran, I am fed up with the status quo and I’m fed up with career politicians who care more about re-election or the next higher office than they do about their neighbors. That’s why I am a declaring my candidacy for the US Senate,” said Wilcox.
