Whiteknights E.V.S (Registered Charity 1124510) is a volunteer run organisation which provides a free out-of-hours service to healthcare organisations in and around Yorkshire.
The operations involve the transportation of blood and related substances via our fleet of specially modified ex-police motorcycles.
The Charity has undergone significant expansion over recent years, most notably moving into South Yorkshire in addition to commencing work with a number of new hospitals and hospices in both North and West Yorkshire.
As a result the Charity requires in excess of £30,000 per annum to enable us to run our expanded fleet of seven motorcycles.
The Charity is run by a team of volunteers, no-one is paid for their services enabling us to spend donations where they are most required, on providing the service.
What is the social/environmental problem/issue that this project will address?
Our service means that patients who are unwell and find themselves in either a hospital or a hospice can focus on getting better or making themselves as comfortable as possible, without needing to wait for their drugs / test results or samples to be assessed.
