Archived: OpenAirplane: Making renting an airplane as easy as renting a car

iCrowdNewswire - Jul 1, 2015

While everything else seems to be speeding up, traveling around the U.S. is slowing down. We can fix that. OpenAirplane makes it easy to find, book, fly, and pay for aircraft rental online.

Our rental service launched in June 2013 and our network has now grown to 88 locations in 34 states offering over 290 aircraft. Over 9,300 pilots have  signed up to fly with us. In 2014 we booked over $100K in gross rental revenue.

We have earned endorsements from Cessna Aircraft, Cirrus Aircraft, insurance underwriters, and the aviation industry. We’re proud to be working at Bunker Labs, an accelerator program for veteran owned startups at 1871 in Chicago.

Imagine travel that costs 75% less than using a private jet and takes only 8% more time

Scheduled airline travel times have slowed down over 20% since 1980, and it’s getting worse. While there are just 300 hundred airports served by the commercial airlines, with most of the traffic concentrated at about 70 hub airports, private aviation gives travelers access to over 5,000 public use airports across the Unites States.

Next, our charter product will offer travelers access to planes & pilots on demand. Together, we can make private aviation more valuable, safer, and more fun.
