Diatize is the healthier, affordable, tastier alternative to fast food in Harlem, NY. After securing space in a food services incubator, we will offer take-out and online ordering, as well as cooking classes. Children from a nearby school will help us maintain a garden that we will use for herbs and veggies.
Diatize will create nutritious meals out of the incubator Kitchen at Union Food Lab and set up an ordering service to all of Manhattan, to health clubs, offices and homes.
Harlem is the epicenter of Type 2 Diabetes and Obesity. Fast food is abundant and residents lack access to proper nutrition.
The founder of Diatize, Dennis Sheehan, is a Type 2 diabetic from Harlem who suffered a heart attack in 2007. Like many others in low-income areas, Dennis didn’t have insurance or much money to pay for his medical bills. People in lower income areas arent afforded the choices to eat healthy, until now. Eating healthier doesn’t have to be so hard. We can change the world, one meal at a time.
