With $2 million in customer commitments secured and having completed R&D, testing and market development, TekManna is ready to build a nutraceutical production facility as a vertically integrated, business-to-business producer of a USDA Certified Organic Chlorella nutritional supplement regarded as one of the few protein and vitamin packed “super foods”.
Part of the $23 billion vitamins, minerals and supplement industry which is growing at 7%-9% annually, the current Chlorella market is $127 million with all product currently being imported from China, Korea and other points in Asia. Being the only U.S. producer, TekManna is poised to be the U.S. market leader within three years while making major inroads into international markets.
The projected EBIDTA of $22 million can be reached in year-5 by signing contracts with only a few dozen customers, providing a potential 42x ROI.
TekManna’s closed-loop production system positions the product to meet the top industry recognized quality standards including cGMP, USDA Certified Organic, kosher, California Prop 65 along with the “Made in USA” label.
Chlorella is a nutritional food supplement. It is one of the few “super-foods” that is high in protein, carbohydrates, fiber, chlorophyll, vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, B12, C, D and E along with many beneficial minerals. It has 55 to 65 percent protein (higher than beef) with 18 different amino acids in them that are in the correct ratio to one another.
Chlorella has ten times the beta-carotene of carrots and is rich in most B vitamins except folic acid, but particularly high in B-12 and is excellent for vegetarians.
According to a 2013 Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) consumer survey, 68% of U.S. adults reported taking a dietary supplement. 97% of both men and women taking supplements take vitamins and minerals.
