Help Liquid Lunch GROW
In the winter of 2014, the site of the first Liquid Lunch restaurant was lost in a catastrophic fire that left the building uninhabitable. While this was a devastating blow to the business and its short term success, it was also then that we decided to take our vision to the next level. It was time to evolve.
From the ashes of what was left in the aftermath of the fire, a new restaurant will be born with your help. By donating to this GoFundMe campaign, you will help a new community based restaurant to open. We have decided to name it Grow.
We chose the name because it embodies so many of the concepts we hope to represent: Community, Creativity, Agriculture, Family, and Love. Come join us on this adventure of evolution – a true phoenix rising out of the ashes, ready to become a guiding force in our community. GROW with us and help us realize the beautiful vision we have for all of our extended Liquid Lunch family.
Strong Foundation
From the first day we opened our doors, we have been a part of something bigger than just another local restaurant. Fred is a classically trained chef with a humble, hard-working background. He leaves his ego at the door and pours his soul into his soups. The resulting creations are multi-dimensional and balanced in both flavor and texture. Each dish is a true gastronomical symphony.
Strength and Skills
Over the years, we have won awards and accolades for the quality of our products. Creating real, good food is the foundation upon which we have built our business and our reputations. It is a standard which will NEVER be compromised. We are constantly looking for ways to enhance the quality of our product with a focus on organic and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. The exponentially increasing cost of doing business makes it very difficult to adhere to this practice but it is a key factor in our ability to differentiate ourselves and stand out in a sea of sub-standard sustenance.
Vision in the Kitchen
Fred’s culinary talent has always been highlighted by his knack for creating simple, home-cooked meals. His genius is not in pretentious fancy dishes. Where Fred shines is in Gram’s kitchen-circa 1965.
We all vaguely remember what that tasted like. It tasted like home. Unfortunately, traditional American cuisine has long been associated with boring, routine and bland. Cooking networks and haute-cuisine have deemed our traditions obsolete. We have forgotten how good iconic dishes like stew, stroganoff, and meatloaf can be.
With an emphasis on farm fresh, locally sourced, seasonal ingredients, Fred plans on bringing back the family dinner. His rare talent for balancing flavors, textures, and ingredients is equaled only by his gift for translating true love into his food. My contribution will be to invite everyone into our “home” to enjoy a home-cooked family meal complete with a community table, local wines and craft beers, and an atmosphere of comfy cozy love. I might add in a few baking secrets for dessert as well! And Mark will work hard to ensure that we keep our heads out of the clouds (at least most of the time) and run a tight ship.
How You Will Be Helping Us
By now you are probably asking what your donations will be used for. If you have watched the video, you will have noticed that our location is almost ready. What we need now are the actual starting costs: opening inventory, furniture, décor, and a few other items to get us to where we will be ready to open the doors.
On behalf of the Liquid Lunch family, I want to thank you for your support and invite you to join us on our journey into the future.Help Liquid Lunch to GROW
