One in Four U.S. Families Can’t Currently Afford Veterinary Care

21.5% of cat owners and 29.3% of dog owners who did not visit a veterinarian in the past year said they could not afford it.

Nearly ½ of Cats and a ¼ of Dogs Didn’t Visit with a Veterinarian in the Past Year

44.9% of cat owners did not take their cat or cats to a veterinarian, up from 36.3 percent in 2006.

18.7% of dog owners did not take their dog or dogs to a veterinarian, up from 17.3 percent in 2006.

Traction & Accomplishments

We have grown to about 20 veterinarians currently who have signed up for our service, and are looking to grow to at least 50 veterinarians within the next 90 days. Our current focus is finding the optimal vet/user ratio so that we can tune our system to deliver the best results to both our vets and our end users.

Veterinarians across the country face an uncertain future.

The U.S. supply of veterinarians in 2012 was 90,200, and that supply exceeded the demand for veterinary services by about 11,250 full-time equivalent veterinarians.
