Archived: The Armenian Genocide Centennial Committee: a one-of-a-kind project to honor the history of those who came before us and register what they endured in the world’s collective memory

iCrowdNewswire - Apr 15, 2015

Help ensure the world will #NeverForget1915.

The Centennial is almost upon us… though over 1.5 million lives were lost to history 100 years ago, we as a people will never forget each and every man, woman and child who perished in the Armenian Genocide. Our media campaign will be launching soon (many thanks to those who contributed) and it’s now time to kick off a one-of-a-kind project to honor the history of those who came before us and register what they endured in the world’s collective memory.

Please help us on this historic anniversary by making a donation to help build a physical testament to truth and memory.

The “River of Stone” will represent our collective pledge to #NeverForget1915 and the #ArmenianGenocide. Every person who wishes to remember the Genocide will take a social pledge and have their first and last name engraved on a single river stone.  The collection of stones will be shaped in the form of the Euphrates river, from its twin sources in what is now Eastern Turkey to the terminus of the Genocide in Deir ez-Zoor, Syria. We will ask you to digitally add your name to the project starting in early April.

Our first installation of the River of Stone will be in a prominent location in the New York City area this summer. Then it will travel throughout the United States, wherever it is needed, to raise awareness, education and participation.

But we need your help. Fund just one stone for $5. Or as many as you wish.

Together, we can tell the world our story and ensure it’s never forgotten. Once you have made a donation, please share this page with all your friends and family – every effort you make will help grow our monument to our collective memory. And every dollar will make a difference.
