Limited by its legacy software, the City of Methuen, MA, has partnered with OpenGov, the leader in modern cloud ERP software for our nation’s cities, counties, and state agencies, to upgrade its digital permitting system with OpenGov Citizen Services.
With a goal to be citizen-friendly and easy to do business with, City leaders have invested in OpenGov Citizen Services to update the City’s licensing and permitting processes. City leaders say that their legacy software, Full Circle, lacked functionality that would allow the City to fully embrace an electronic permitting system, whereas OpenGov ticked the City’s boxes.
OpenGov Citizen Services will provide the City, located north of Boston, with a customer portal for such services as pet licenses, special event permits, and building permits. When applying for a permit or license, customers will be guided through a short survey to ensure they have the necessary forms and fees. They can then draft and submit their application online, pay fees, and send messages to reviewers, all without leaving their home or office. The process will be just as easy for City staff who will enjoy automatic workflow routing, drag-and-drop configurable security controls, and integrated reporting.
The City of Methuen joins more than 1,000 public sector organizations leveraging OpenGov to revolutionize work processes with cloud-based software designed specifically for the needs of government.
