DALLAS/FORT WORTH, TX, December 1, 2020 – KPost Roofing & Waterproofing is proud to partner with 94.9 KLTY’s Christmas Wish™ promotion to provide Amy Koch and her family with a new roof, among other surprises. Mrs. Koch is a special education teacher at Shady Shores Elementary School in Corinth and is battling Stage 3 cancer.
“We were excited to partner with Bonnie Curry at to bless Amy and her family with a new roof for KLTY’s Christmas Wish™ promotion,” says Renae Bales, Vice President at KPost. “Hearing how Amy and her husband, Montie, have opened their home to not only one boy, but also three sisters who needed a loving family touched me as both a mom and a daughter. They have shared so much love with their growing family, providing a safe home where the kids are finally feeling secure. Then learning that Amy is also battling Stage 3 cancer, and all the fears that come along with such a trial moved our team to tears. We knew we had to help.”
The Koch family was in dire need of roof repairs. With medical bills and the expenses which come with adopting four children, the repairs have had to wait. When KPost inspected the roof, they realized it was time for a full replacement. All labor and materials are being donated by KPost and CertainTeed so the Koch family does not have to worry about their roof any longer. The family is in the process of picking the shingle color they would like for their new roof. The replacement will be finished before Christmas.
When Amy and her family were surprised by Bonnie and the KPost team, she asked for prayers for her family. “My kids are all adopted and this has been really hard for them. They’ve been dealing with abandonment issues and are finally learning to trust someone again. Now they feel like they’re going to lose me. It’s been really hard to know how to navigate how they may lose me just as they’ve started to know they’re loved.”
Amy was nominated for a Christmas Wish by her friend, Terri, who shares, “Amy is an amazing teacher and has always given her students and her own kids 110%. Through all kinds of challenges, her character and love of the Lord shines through. She has worked so hard to find new ways to reach her students. Amy’s cancer has become more aggressive and she’s about to undergo chemo and radiation. She remains hopeful, positive and continues to use what she’s experiencing to inspire other people. She has a motto and it’s ‘Fight Like Heaven’. Friends have printed up T-Shirts with that motto in support of Amy and her family.”
