Pensacola, Fla. | IMS ExpertServices has earned national recognition for its thought leadership work through the IMS Insights Podcast series from The National Law Review (NLR) in the 2019 “Go-To Thought Leadership” Awards.
NLR announced seventy-five national winners of the annual “Go-To Thought Leader” Awards, selected through review of a pool of more than 100,000 legal news articles published in 2019. NLR named Teresa Barber, Director of Expert Relations and host of the IMS Insights Podcast, as 2019 “Go-To Thought Leader” for Litigation Strategies, for her work providing thought-provoking analysis of developing trends in litigation, and expert witness delivery and consultation.
This year’s “Go-To Thought Leader” Awards mark the second year NLR has recognized thought leaders across thirty-five legal practice areas ranging from Antitrust and Art Law to Intellectual Property.
The IMS Insights Podcast, launched in 2019, featuring discussions with top experts on hot topics in litigation and areas where developments and innovation could impact key practice areas of the firm’s client base, including antitrust, intellectual property, and complex commercial litigation. IMS Insights guests discuss trends in trial preparation and expert witness services, as well as their fields and practice areas of expertise, ranging from electric vehicles, 5G, aerospace engineering, fintech, and emerging fields of practice.

In the press release announcing 2019 Award recipients, NLR Operations Manager, Eileen Speer, noted that they look not only for “relevant and well thought-out legal news, we also considered which articles were reader favorites and that were quoted or cited by other publications and/or syndicated by other media.” The Awards recognize contributors who provide guidance for attorneys. NLR Managing Director Jennifer Schaller remarked in the release, “The National Law Review’s online edition was developed by and for in-house attorneys, so we wanted to recognize thought leaders who identify and sort through the torrent of daily legal news and highlight the developments that require attention.” She continued, “We also looked for practical guidance that provides a blueprint for action.”
The IMS Insights Podcast series will continue its second year in 2020, with new discussions on topics including blockchain, the implications of the #MeToo movement for in-house counsel and commercial litigators, wellness programming at AmLaw 100 firms, and the adoption of artificial intelligence across industries.
