Former Nelson Mullins partner will build on firm’s Central Florida presence to establish Tampa and Orlando offices
Berger Singerman, Florida’s business law firm, is pleased to announce that Nicolette Corso Vilmos has joined the firm as a partner on the Business Reorganization and Dispute Resolution Teams to increase Berger Singerman’s footprint in Tampa and Orlando. Vilmos will be resident in Orlando and continue to serve her bankruptcy and complex business litigation clients.
“With increasing demand for legal counsel from existing and prospective clients in Central Florida, Berger Singerman is expanding to meet that need by providing the exceptional client service we are known for,” said Paul Steven Singerman, Co-Chair of Berger Singerman. “I cannot think of a better candidate to lead Berger Singerman in Tampa and Orlando than Nicolette Vilmos. Nicolette is an extraordinary lawyer. She has worked hard to earn the respect of lawyers and judges in the Orlando and Tampa markets — and beyond, and we think she is a great cultural fit with our team. We look forward to growing our presence in those markets.”
Vilmos has established herself as a trusted legal advisor to Central Florida’s businesses on a range of complex litigation matters, including bankruptcy, intellectual property, real estate workouts and complex commercial litigation. Prior to joining Berger Singerman, Vilmos was a partner at Nelson Mullins’ Orlando office, where she Co-Chaired the firm’s Financial Institutions, Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Team and was a member of its Intellectual Property, Commercial Litigation and Appellate Practice Groups. She earned her J.D. from Stetson University College of Law and her B.A. from Stetson University as well.
Vilmos will utilize her over two decades of experience in Central Florida’s legal community to broaden Berger Singerman’s regional client base and to help recruit additional talented professionals to support its growth. The firm plans to soon open dedicated offices in Tampa and Orlando, where its Business, Finance & Tax, and Government and Regulatory Teams will also be represented.
“In addition to being an exceptional lawyer, Nicolette personifies the entrepreneurial, collaborative, and service-driven values that are the cornerstone Berger Singerman. She is the ideal ambassador of our culture to Central Florida,” said Jordi Guso, Managing Partner of Berger Singerman.
Vilmos is the latest high-profile addition to join Berger Singerman, which has recently attracted top legal talent including seasoned Dispute Resolution Team members Ruth Vafek and Gia Abreu O’Connor as well as Michel Debolt as a partner on the firm’s Business, Finance & Tax Team. The firm also welcomed Erin Hoskins, Joseph O’Brien, and Ana Kauffmann as associates earlier this year.
