Water Tower Research was founded to provide “Research for the Other 99%™”, with a mission to improve the communication channels between companies and their stakeholders that have been impaired by dramatic structural changes to the conventional equity research and investor engagement models.

Matt brings more than 20 years of experience in equity research and investor relations to Water Tower Research.
Matt is a widely recognized healthcare services industry analyst on Wall Street, including more than five years at BMO Capital Markets and before that more than 16 years at Goldman Sachs.
During his career as a sell-side analyst, Matt was recognized by the Greenwich Survey, Starmine, and Institutional Investor as one of the leading analysts covering managed care and provider-side sectors. Matt is frequently quoted in financial and industry publications and has contributed unique industry analysis and insight to leading stories featured by the Wall Street Journal. Matt has been widely known for his comprehensive analysis of non-public healthcare companies as well as industry-wide modeling of historical and projected healthcare economic, pricing, and cost trends
Prior to his career as an industry analyst, Matt worked in the healthcare industry for Telesis Medical Management developing risk-bearing partnerships between managed care organizations (MCOs) and primary care physician groups. Matt also worked for a publicly traded MCO (Physicians Health Services), where he headed provider network development.
Matt began his career at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), where he participated in and led systems integration projects in New York, Tokyo, and Istanbul.
Matt holds an MBA and MPH from Columbia University, where he later taught graduate courses as part-time adjunct professor. Matt earned his BA at The Johns Hopkins University (Economics, Mathematical Sciences). Matt is a CFA charterholder. He is also a Member of the Board of New York HealthPass, a small business health insurance exchange.
