NEW YORK, NY – Former federal prosecutor Heather Suchorsky, who spent five years in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey as a white-collar and gangs prosecutor, has joined Abell Eskew Landau LLP (AEL) as Of Counsel. Healthcare Fraud in the Eastern District of New York and handled some of the country’s most complex qui tam and False Claims Act cases. Mr. Abell subsequently spent nearly two years as Chair of the Healthcare Fraud and White Collar Defense Practice at regional law firm. Mr. Eskew served as both a civil and criminal prosecutor in the Eastern District of New York and District of New Jersey, respectively, and held multiple supervisory positions on the criminal side, including Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division and Chief of the Health Care and Government Fraud Unit. Mr. Eskew now focuses his practice on parallel investigations and white-collar criminal defense. Mr. Landau, who also handled healthcare cases as a federal prosecutor in the Eastern District of New York, added five years as an associate general counsel at a world-renowned healthcare system. His practice focuses on healthcare transactions, regulatory counseling, internal investigations, and False Claims Act cases.

Most recently, she served in the Office’s Economic Crimes Unit, which handles complex financial crimes. Before that, Ms. Suchorsky served in the Organized Crime and Gangs Unit where she specialized in the investigation and prosecution of violent organized street gangs. Before her time as a federal prosecutor, Ms. Suchorsky clerked for the Honorable Kevin McNulty, U.S. District Judge for the District of New Jersey and worked at a large international law firm. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, magna cum laude, and the University of Pennsylvania College of Arts & Sciences, summa cum laude.
