Engineered Advisory CEO Will Support the Fight to End Teen Drug Addiction
WEST PALM BEACH, FL – August 11, 2022 – Julio Gonzalez, founder and CEO of Engineered Advisory, the nation’s largest specialty tax advisory firm, has officially joined the Advisory Board of the Victoria’s Voice Foundation, a charity founded by philanthropists David and Jacqueline Siegal to combat teen drug addiction. The couple, made world-famous by the 2012 documentary The Queen of Versailles, founded the Victoria’s Voice Foundation after the tragic death of their 18-year-old daughter Victoria in 2015 as a result of an accidental overdose.
“It’s an incredible honor to be asked to join the Advisory Board of Victoria’s Voice,” said Julio Gonzalez. “Teenage drug addiction is a crisis that touches literally every family in America today. Last year, a beloved nephew of mine died as a result of an overdose associated with fentanyl, so this fight has become a personal crusade for me. Every day, more than 100 people in the United States die from a drug overdose. Something must be done about it, and I’m happy to use the considerable resources at my disposal to do my part. I’m glad to help the Siegel family and their allies to fight this terrible scourge through educational programs, rehabilitation support, and access to life-saving emergency medications.”
By becoming a member of the Advisory Board of Victoria’s Voice, Julio joins illustrious company. Current Advisory Board members include Mark Davis, owner of the Las Vegas Raiders NFL football team; Johnny Wright, legendary music producer and manager of Justin Timberlake; country music superstar Lee Greenwood and his wife Kim; and prominent Texas philanthropist Bubba Saulsbury.
“We’re proud that Julio has become a strategic partner of Victoria’s Voice,” said Mina Lu, the CEO of the Victoria’s Voice Foundation. ”He has given significant financial support to our charity and used his considerable position in the financial world to strengthen our organization. We know how committed he is to the war against drugs, and we look forward to his continued support as we expand our national outreach efforts. Fentanyl is now the leading cause of death of Americans aged 18-45, and Julio understands the urgency of the crisis we’re now in.”
As part of its nationwide drug education program, Victoria’s Voice has reached over 100,000 teens in 17 states, sending speakers to schools and developing an extraordinary virtual program for parents and teens under its Victory Academy network to address teenagers at their schools and at home. In addition, the charity works with state governors and lawmakers to promote drug policy reform at the federal and state levels; advocates and helps first responders secure a supply of Naloxone and expand its distribution to prevent overdose deaths; and offers free 90-day rehabilitation services to those in need. Victoria’s Voice has launched its app on the Apple App Store and has begun receiving applications for its pilot Victory Clubs, whose aim is to keep teenagers drug-free.
In 2019, David and Jacqueline Siegal co-authored Victoria’s Voice, a book based on their daughter’s diary that describes her struggles with addiction. “Our daughter’s dying wish was to share her diary and save lives from drugs,” the Siegals said. At Julio’s request, Mina Lu made copies of the book available at the HABU Accelerator Conference, sponsored by Engineered Advisory, held in Plano, TX on August 2-3, 2022, to raise awareness of the charity’s good works.
