Fort Lauderdale. FL. –ANESCO North Broward is expanding its services with the addition of a Locum Tenens division, providing needed anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists.
“With staffing shortages rampant throughout the medical profession, the current moment provides an exceptionally unique business opportunity for our new Locum Tenens division,” said Dr. Richard Meli, President and CEO of ANESCO North Broward. “Our decades-long record of providing high quality care and providing our medical staff with exceptional opportunities to achieve their professional and personal goals will create mutually beneficial relationships for clients and medical staff alike.”
The new ANESCO Locum Tenens division, now underway, will fully launch Sept.1 and will provide anesthesia staff to surgery centers, hospitals, medical centers and other health care providers.
Dr. Meli said the U.S. faces shortages between 37,800 and 124,000 physicians within the next 12 years, and that more than 85 percent of health facilities use Locum Tenens to fill personnel gaps. “The specialty with the most interest in Locum Tenens positions are anesthesiologists,” he said.
ANESCO North Broward has provided anesthesia services for Broward Health hospitals, as well as for various hospital systems and surgery centers in the tri-county area, for over 20 years. A local, majority-minority owned physician group, ANESCO has contracted relationships with more than 100 medical professionals, including anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists.
