Struggling to manually track months-long procurement processes, leaders from the Maryland Office of Technology for Human Services (OTHS) upgraded to digital procurement software with partner OpenGov, the leader in modern cloud software for our nation’s cities, counties, and state agencies.
The OTHS had been using Google Sheets to manage procurements. However, staff were experiencing time delays and lagging behind on renewal solicitations that sometimes spanned six to nine months. Seeing how OpenGov Procurement could easily track procurements from start to finish, OTHS staff and leaders quickly realized OpenGov’s solution would help the agency innovate, improve efficiencies, and track performance.
OTHS staff had been wasting valuable time manually creating RFxs and bids and tracking them through email, Word, and other outdated software tools. OpenGov Procurement will help accelerate the agency’s process, guiding staff through the user-friendly portal to create solicitations, evaluate and award bids, and manage contracts. Staff also will be able to automate contract management by getting reminders of expiration deadlines. All the contract and vendor spend will flow into a visual, easy-to-read report, thereby increasing transparency and accountability.
The Maryland Office of Technology for Human Services joins more than 1,100 public sector organizations leveraging OpenGov to revolutionize work processes with cloud-based software designed specifically for the needs of government.
