The Annual ALM/IPMA Compensation Survey for Paralegals and Managers provides a wealth of data for law firms and law departments to benchmark paralegal compensation and management practice.
New York, NY – March 28, 2022 – ALM Intelligence, in collaboration with the International Paralegal Management Association (IPMA), announced the launch of the Annual Compensation Survey for Paralegals, Practice Support Professionals, and Managers. The data collected in this survey is an essential guide to law firm support staff compensation. It provides information needed to attract, motivate and retain top talent while still controlling costs.
“For 20 years, the Annual Compensation Survey for Paralegals, Practice Support Professionals, and Managers has enabled decision-makers to ensure that their firms are attracting and retaining the best support staff possible,” said Kayla McCaleb, Research Manager & Compensation Research Lead at ALM Intelligence. “Through our partnership with IPMA, we produce an industry-leading report that allows law firms and legal departments to benchmark their compensation packages.”
The survey runs until April 29, 2022. All information collected from participants will be kept completely confidential to protect the privacy of respondents. At the close of the survey, ALM Intelligence will aggregate and analyze the data to yield a comprehensive report containing compensation and benefit practices for law firm support staff. Seven paralegal positions are listed—from clerk to paralegal director—as well as 3 litigation support titles and 3 docket clerk titles. Metrics in the report include salary and bonus, billing rates, and billable hours, as well as the analysis of law firm and corporate law department positions separately. Compensation data by position is further stratified (where there is sufficient data to analyze) by years in the profession, size of the organization, and practice area.
“The ALM/IPMA Survey continues to be the most comprehensive collection of salary and related data for paralegals, e-Discovery and docketing personnel, and their managers,” said Gary Melhuish, IPMA Compensation Survey Advisory Board Committee Chair. “IPMA member participants represent a cross-section of the leading U.S. firms and the data collected is essential to firm leadership to understand the rapidly changing salary landscape.”
