A new law firm offers a non-traditional approach to legal services for public records, open meetings, and appellate advocacy matters.
HARRISBURG, PA, March 14, 2022 – Opening for business on March 14, 2022, Ramsingh Legal will provide legal services for public records and open meetings issues, in addition to appellate advocacy services. The firm will offer both prepackaged legal services and traditional hourly billing.
The solo firm will be run by attorney Joy Ramsingh, who formerly served the Pennsylvania Office of Open Records as an appeals officer and then practiced transparency law at Obermayer, Rebmann, Maxwell and Hippel in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Ramsingh also served the OOR as amicus curiae and appellate counsel of record.
Erik Arneson, former executive director of the Office of the Open Records, said, “Joy is an excellent attorney and very well-versed in Pennsylvania’s Right-to-Know Law. Working with her at the OOR, it was quickly evident that she has keen legal instincts, an impressive attention to detail, and a passion for open records and open meetings laws. I’m certain her new practice will benefit clients across the state.”
According to Ramsingh, “Our commitment to open government includes a commitment to access to justice. We demonstrate this commitment by offering reliable flat fees because public information laws are only as effective as the accessibility of aggressive, skilled legal assistance to maximize their impact.”
