ATLANTA (Oct. 20, 2021)—Stites & Harbison, PLLC is pleased to announce attorney Jeffrey W. Melcher has joined its Atlanta office as a Member (Partner). He will be based in Atlanta while also serving clients in Nashville, Tenn.
Melcher is a member of the Torts & Insurance Practice and Business Litigation Service Groups. His practice focus is commercial and insurance defense litigation. He serves as regional defense and coverage counsel for numerous major liability, casualty defense, and D&O and E&O carriers. Melcher’s diverse experience includes representing clients within the medical and allied health care fields, defending trucking and transportation claims, insurance and bad faith claims, toxic tort and product liability matters, as well as the full array of real estate litigation. Additionally, he has significant experience in the area of professional malpractice defense and defending employers and self-insureds in workers’ compensation defense matters.
Melcher is active in a variety of professional organizations. He is a member of DRI: The Voice of the Defense Bar Lawyers Club of Atlanta, Trucking Industry Defense Association, Claims and Litigation Management Alliance, International Association of Defense Counsel, Atlanta Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Program and Professional Liability Underwriting Society. He is a member of the Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee Bar Associations, and is in active practice in all four jurisdictions.
Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, Melcher was a Partner with Chartwell in Atlanta. Before Chartwell, he was the Southeastern Regional Managing Partner for Wilson Elser.
