Miami, Florida (September 9, 2021) -After a thoughtful search, the United States Minority Chamber of Commerce today named Dr. Odette Pineiro Caballero as the Chairwoman of the Education Committee. With 23 years of success and connectivity Chamber leadership experience, Dr. Pineiro says she is ready to guide the U.S. MCC into a better future inside education to the region.
Dr. Pineiro, a former Secretary of Education in Puerto Rico, spent the last 15 years in public policy advocacy promoting minority business through education to reflect the rich diversity of our vibrant nation and in her Puerto Rico.
“I’m honored to serve as Chairwoman of the Education Committee of the Chamber and look forward to engaging with all of members and partners across this endeavor. I am eager to advance the agenda they’ve helped define to ensure it thrives as a minority organization promoting equal participation and entrepreneurship in America”, said Dr. Pineiro.

She brings a proven record of success in public service, advocacy and leadership. Dr. Odette Pineiro will be responsible for outreach with U.S. Government and large private sector partners, as well as collaborations with other organizations to help fulfill shared missions with emphasis in programs to foster entrepreneurship, language, high-tech competencies, access to scholarship programs and services to the minority business community in the Americas.
About Dr. Odete Pineiro: She has extensive experience in enhancing the quality of public, private, and non-traditional education at the Americas and Puerto Rico, by designing, implementing, and assessing programs which foster collaborations through formal/informal education of administrators, teachers, and students. She has also designed and managed educational programs for Brown University’s Northeast and Islands Regional Educational Laboratory. She was appointed PR Secretary of Education in 2009. Currently, Dr. Pineiro is CEO of Global Education Exchange Opportunities, Inc. (GEEO).
