Thrive Senior Living announced that six communities across Georgia and Florida were selected as award winners of SeniorAdvisor.com 2021 Best of Senior Living by A Place for Mom, Inc., the largest senior living referral service in North America. The recognized communities in Georgia include Thrive at Augusta, Thrive at Frederica, The Georgian Lakeside, The Social at Vinings, Thrive on Skidaway – as well as Thrive at Beachwalk located in Florida.
Best of Senior Living recognizes the top in-home care and assisted living, determined by the reviews of seniors and their families on SeniorAdvisor.com, the nation’s largest rating and review site for senior care and services. This designation identifies senior living and home care providers who sustain consistently high ratings and positive reviews – an honor only awarded to the top 3% of providers across the U.S. and Canada.
Despite industry challenges posed by these ongoing health cisis, Thrive Senior Living has worked aggressively to maintain human-centric, personalized care for its residents throughout the health crisis. Top reviews commend Thrive on its commitment to the health and wellbeing of residents – keeping them safe, engaged, and perhaps most importantly, loved. From a series of virtual introduction programs for new residents; preparation to facilitate new resident move-ins; careful development of Thrive’s world-class communication plan to connect residents, families and team members; physically distanced performances; regularly scheduled Facetime and Zoom connections with families; in-person visits through Thrive’s hand-made Clear Connection panels; multiple daily check-ins; Freedom Walks for daily doses of Vitamin D; and in-room dining options featuring a variety of menu choices, Thrive team members were ever-present during this critical time, keeping a keen eye open to any individual opportunities to go above-and-beyond and helping residents stay active and engaged.
“Thrive Senior Living takes great pride in the personal bonds we’ve forged with our residents,” said Thrive Senior Living Chief Operating Officer Nicole Moberg. “Our mission is to support fulfillment and joy in the lives of older adults and ensure they have purpose, regardless of age or ability,” We strive to build meaningful friendships backed by a strong desire to deeply know our team members, residents and their families. To hear that we’ve received this honor and earned the trust of so many to care for their loved ones is the ultimate compliment.”
Reflected in many of the top reviews, senior housing has remained a critical industry throughout this health crisis. A Place for Mom surveyed families that moved into a personal care community over the past six months with 86% of caregivers indicating that health crisis did not influence their decision to move their loved one into a community during these ongoing crisis, mainly as a result of seniors needing care beyond what could be provided at home. More so, nearly 9 in 10 families surveyed with a loved one in senior living said they were satisfied/very satisfied with the care their loved one was receiving this past year, as caregiver fatigue became an unfortunate reality with 77% of caregivers reporting that they have been overwhelmed by the demands of caring for a senior since the beginning of this health crisis.
“During a year that challenged all of us, and particularly frontline healthcare workers, senior living communities demonstrated resilience going above and beyond to keep residents safe, healthy, and happy,” said Sue Johansen, Senior Vice President, Community Network, at A Place for Mom. “Of the nearly 45,000 senior living care providers in North America currently listed on SeniorAdvisor.com and hundreds of thousands of reviews, only the top 3% were recognized with this prestigious award, simply by providing the highest level of care that residents and their families deserve.”
