Chicago, IL – Premier U.S. issuer-sponsored equity research firm Water Tower Research LLC (www.watertowerresearch.com) announced today that Wall Street executive Stuart Linde will join the firm and its parent company alphaDIRECT Group LLC, on January 19, 2021, in the position of CEO. Linde will also become a member of the parent company’s Board. In his new role at Water Tower Research, Linde will provide strategic oversight of the company’s rapidly expanding issuer-sponsored equity research platform as well as pursuing additional strategic businesses and partnerships that complement Water Tower Research’s core business.
Commenting on Stuart Linde’s hire, current CEO, Vice Chair, and Co-Founder Tim Gerdeman stated, “I am excited to hire such a seasoned and highly respected Wall Street veteran to direct the next chapters of Water Tower Research’s evolution. Stuart Linde’s 30-year Wall Street career accomplishments include being Head of Global Equity Research at Barclays / Head of U.S. Equity Research at Lehman Brothers where he oversaw a Top 3 U.S. franchise for over 10 years and the buildout of the global platform at Barclays (Europe, Japan, Non-Japan Asia, Canada, and Latin America). Linde has also served as the Head of U.S. Equity Research at Scotiabank and Head of Equity Research at Sterne Agee CRT. Earlier in his career, Linde was an accomplished equity research analyst covering the Casino, Entertainment, and Cable industries at Lehman Brothers and Gerard Klauer Mattison (BMO Capital Markets). Linde has a tremendous track record for building ROE accretive businesses, training and developing top equity research analysts, and fostering a positive partnership culture. Stuart Linde holds an MBA from Rutgers University Graduate School of Management and a BA in Economics from New York University.
