According to the latest research, toys impact kids’ minds. They play a significant role in their mental health development and character building.
Kids are fast learners. They love toys much more than anything. If you have a doubt just take your kid to a toy store. He will find several things without which he can’t even live! Toys are much more than fun and games for a kid. Most of them provide a good opportunity for children to learn. The best toys are those that engage a kid’s senses, spark their imagination, and encourage interaction with others. A series of research show that toys create a great impact on children mind.
Parents always want the best for their children. Therefore they strive to do something good for their growth and development. Experts are of opinion that toys are the most important thing parents can use to promote brain development. However, they should know which types of toys are beneficial for this purpose. Usually, the parents as well as the children are attracted to the toys packed in eye-catching custom boxes. The one designed by using bright colors, enticing fonts, and fascinating images appear more appealing. In reality, the toys should be more educational than to look charming. They should stimulate learning in kids and healthily engage them.
Toys Play an Important Role in Child Development:
Toys are multiple purposes. They provide entertainment to kids sidewise fulfilling an educational role. Toys have a great impact on children’s minds. They enhance cognitive behavior and help in stimulating creativity. They boost the development of physical and intellectual skills which are necessary for a child’s later life.
Babies are eager to learn about the world. Every new shape, color, taste, and sound is a great learning experience for them. Give your baby safe toys. This helps him in discovering his senses and a lot of things around. Rattles and other small toys that make music are the most favorites of infants. They are enclosed in colorful toy packaging to make them more attractive. Toys with contrasting colors help in developing vision among kids. Objects such as blocks help them to build motor skills and hand and eye coordination.
There is a wide variety of toys for toddlers. Although they may still play with the toys they enjoyed as babies. The same blocks they played a year ago can provide different and broader educational opportunities to expand their knowledge. In addition to them, shape sorters are best for toddlers. They teach them to match similar items together. It increases their opportunity to learn more colors while developing their motor skills.
When kids reach preschool age, it is the right time to learn letters, numbers, and other language skills. Many toys encourage such learning. They may range from simple alphabetic puzzles to high-technology electronic gadgets. These toys give your child a good way of introducing new concepts he or she will learn at school. Similarly, for school going kids, there are several educational toys available in the market. Their method to use and specifications etc are highlighted through toy box printing. The kids may supplement their learning with fun while practicing different things. This boosts their memory, make them feel enjoyable, and develop a positive attitude towards learning.
Research on the Impact of Toys on a Child’s Mind:
Professor Jeffrey Trawick-Smith was a Phyllis Waite Endowed Chair. He held a post at the CECE through 2018. He has authored over 50 books and articles and presented more than 100 research papers. Most of them were related to young children’s play. He also studied the impact of peers, teachers, families, friends, and classroom/home environments on play interactions of a kid. Few studies have also been conducted to study the effect of toys on children’s minds. It was surprising that about 90 percent of preschool children in the United States involve a toy. So, the center conducted an annual study in which children were observed playing with a variety of toys. They were nominated by teachers, parents, researchers, and even children themselves. We code the kids’ use of the toys in three areas i.e. thinking/learning or problem solving, social interactions, and creativity.
The most important finding concluded from this study is that different toys impact children’s behavior differently. Some of them have a powerful influence on a child’s thinking, his interaction with peers, and creative expression while other toys may not. Some toys look most interesting to adults. They are packed in attractively designed toy boxes but still, they are particularly not effective in promoting development. So the teachers or the patients should select toys carefully creating a good impact on children’s play.
Children can learn much from playing and toys are the best way to help your kid in this regard. When you give your child an educational toy, it gives him a chance to learn, and have fun together at the same time. They help in making the education more enjoyable and retain things longer and develop a positive attitude toward learning.
