Russell Management Group Contributes to the John Stallworth Annual Golf Tournament

The John Stallworth Foundation, known as JSF, provides scholarships for academically gifted Alabama students. Russell Management Group is proud to support the foundation through the John Stallworth Annual Golf Tournament. Each year, the John Stallworth Annual Golf Tournament hosts celebrities, former football players, and individuals with a love of the game. Russell Management Group provides sponsorship for the tournament to help raise funds for scholarships.

The John Stallworth Foundation

The John Stallworth Foundation was originally created to provide scholarships to Stallworth’s Alma Mater, Alabama A & M University. As years went on, it was extended to students who wanted to attend other universities in Alabama as well. John Stallworth is an NFL Hall of Famer himself. The golf tournament ended in 2019, with the last tournament occurring at Robert Trent Jones Golf Course in Huntsville. The tournament hosted NFL Hall of Famers and players from the Pittsburgh Steelers and other teams. Players also included Alabama Auburn College Alumni.

The John Stallworth Foundation has given over $500,000 in scholarships through the golf tournament and donations from businesses including Russell Management Group. The John Stallworth Foundation plans to continue its work through other projects. The Legends Round Table brings sports legends to the local area. The event is free to area students and athletes. Admission is by ticket, which costs $20 per person for non-students.

Russell Management Group supports the Legends Round Table. The aim of the program is to educate high school students in the area and the adults that interact with them. Sports stars share lessons learned on and off the field. It also encourages students to look beyond sports, and to prepare for a life and career outside of the sports world. Sports figures are idolized by many high school students. Life experience shared from a person they idolize is much more likely to have an effect than that coming from parents, teachers, and coaches. While students learn about life, those who work with them may learn how to better reach them.

Russell Management Group is founded by Reuben Russell. He has over 20 years experience as a project management professional. He’s a member of 100 Black Men of Birmingham and the Project Management Institute. Reuben Russell is the President & CEO of Russell Management Group. The company provides enterprise project management and custom web applications. They provide project and scheduling support for NASA’s Space Launch System Program Project Office, among many other high-level projects. Russell Management Group is devoted to improving technology and the local community.
