Elizabeth Giuliani discusses why everyone should visit North Carolina’s Outer Banks in their lifetime.
North Carolina’s Outer Banks, also known as the OBX, is one of the most unique geographical locations in the United States. This 200-mile-long stretch of barrier islands sits off the coast of North Carolina and a small portion of Virginia. The chain of islands is surrounded by water on both sides and known for offering some of the country’s best water activities and beach scenery. Elizabeth Giuliani, a frequenter of North and South Carolina, recently discussed why everyone should visit the Outer Banks at least once.
“Once you visit the Outer Banks, you’ll realize there’s no place in the world quite like it,” Elizabeth Giuliani said. “It has it’s completely own personality, like a bit of the wild west, but on the East Coast and out to sea.”
Elizabeth Giuliani explained the Outer Banks is one of the easiest places to relax. She stated that it’s like stepping back in time. The beaches are never packed, the restaurants still serve fresh fish caught that day, and life moves a lot more slowly. Elizabeth Giuliani explained there’s something about the Outer Banks that makes you want to unplug and enjoy a simpler life.
Elizabeth Giuliani explained that it’s the laid-back lifestyle that attracts many visitors to the Outer Banks, and it’s what keeps them coming back year after year. Flip flops are acceptable footwear absolutely everywhere, and bathing suits are normal daily clothing. After all, the islands are all surrounded by water. Elizabeth Giuliani adds that reservations are not normal to request at restaurants, as most are happy with enjoying a drink on the deck or watching another picture-perfect sunset while they wait.
Elizabeth Giuliani is an adventurer, and one of her major reasons for heading to the Outer Banks is to adventure in the outdoors. The Outer Banks is known as a hotspot for surfing, kiteboarding, offshore fishing, kayaking, hiking, and so much more. It’s an ideal destination for anyone who wants to practice their favorite water sport or try something new.
“It probably sounds like seafood, outdoor adventures, picture-perfect sunsets, and hundreds of miles of beach are enough,” Elizabeth Giuliani said. “But this is an area rich in history too. The lighthouses are iconic, the beach homes have been around for centuries, and the seafood restaurants are iconic along the coast.”
Elizabeth Giuliani finished by stating that it’s more difficult to find reasons not to visit the Outer Banks. It’s a destination that should be on everyone’s bucket list.
After traveling to the Outer Banks, be sure to head on over to Cashiers, North Carolina for even more stunning views and adventure. Aside from the Outer Banks, Elizabeth Giuliani also loves visiting Cashiers. it might even be her favorite place in North Carolina. She visits there every year with her family. There are plenty of beautiful waterfalls and hiking trails with amazing views of the mountains. Another must-visit place in North Carolina!
