With the 2021 Honda Odyssey now gets a refreshed design tweaks, updated feature list, and a refreshed cabin. The car now gets new LED headlights, minor designing tweaks, upgraded auto climate control, etc. The car now features modern and an aggressive-looking grille and headlight design, the front and rear bumpers are now sportier and the alloy wheels are new too. The cabin gets updated features and equipment such as updated safety features such as rear-seat reminder system, CabinWatch, etc. The car is available in five trip options – LX, EX, EX-L, Touring, and Elite.
Just like the 2020 model, the 2021 Honda Odyssey is powered by a 3.5-L i-VTEC V6 engine. This naturally aspirated V6 engine churns out 280 hp @ 6000 rpm and a peak torque of 262 lb-ft @ 4700 rpm and comes mated to a ten-speed automatic gearbox which is smooth and quick with its shifts. Just like other engines from the brand, this engine is highly refined and smooth. In addition to this, the 2021 Honda Odyssey is one of the fastest in the segment.
The engine and transmission combo feel great to drive and feel very comfortable to drive in the city while out on the highway, the engine does not run out of the breadth. The 10-speed AT gearbox, on the other hand, may not be as good as the manual gearbox but is one of the best automatic gearboxes in the segment. The same engine powers all the trim options of the 2021 Honda Odyssey and comes mated to the same transmission option. In terms of performance, the 2021 Honda Odyssey does a quarter-mile run in 15 secs.
The 2021 Honda Odyssey is available in five trim options – LX, EX, EX-L, Touring, and Elite. The 2021 Honda Odyssey LX price is marked at $32,000 while the range-topping, Elite is priced at $49,000. All the trim options come mated to the ten-speed automatic gearbox.
The base trim, Honda Odyssey LX, gets almost all the essential and basic features such as multi-angle rearview camera, power front seats, 18-inch alloy wheels, eco-assist system, automatic climate control, push-button start, and Bluetooth connectivity. The LX also gets other important features such as one-motion 60/40 split 3rd-row magic seat and variable cylinder management.
The Odyssey EX model, which is priced at $36,000, gets features such as Honda sensing technology, magic slide 2nd-row seats, smart entry with auto walkway lock, blind spot information system, 8-inch display touch screen system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, HondaLink Connectivity and remote engine start in addition to other features such as 12-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, tri-zone climate control, auto high beam headlights, and cross-traffic monitor.
The EX-L trim, which is priced at $40,000, is one of the most value for money trim in the entire line-up. The Odyssey EX-L comes with features such as power-adjustable tailgate, in-built SD card navigation, optional rear-seat entertainment system, one-touch power moonroof with tilt feature, memory linked side mirrors with reverse gear tilt-down, two-position memory driver’s seat, CabinTalk in-car PA system and a 150-watt power outlet at the front.
The next trim in the line-up is the Touring variant which is priced at around $4700. This variant get features such as Hands-free access power tailgate, cabin watch, standard rear-seat entertainment system, front and rear parking sensors, mobile hotspot capability, Honda Satellite linked navigation system, led headlights with auto on/off and wiper link, LED fog lights and HONDA VAC.
The Elite trim is the highest equipped trim and is priced from $49000 and gets nice to have features such as 19-inch machine-finished alloy wheels, rain-sensing windshield wipers, power-folding side mirrors, heated steering wheel and other important features such as blue ambient LED lighting, ventilated front seats, 550-watt premium audio system with 11 speakers, including subwoofer, multi-zone audio zone and wireless phone charger. The Elite trim is the most heavily loaded trim and gets almost all the bells and whistles and other modern gizmos.
The EX-L variant of the 2021 Honda Odyssey is one of the most value for money variants in the entire line-up. The car gets all the basic and advanced features and scores high in terms of the overall practicality and convenience department. Considering the features which are on offer with the Odyssey EX-L, this variant is a steal at a $36,000 price tag.
With this being said, it will not be wrong to conclude that with the 2021 update, the Honda Odyssey now comes as a more mature and a well-packaged product in the segment. It is a highly comfortable, practical, and luxurious product in the mini-van segment and caters to almost everyone’s demands and requirements.
