A report submitted by the Fairfield Police Department states that a woman, aged 32 died on the spot after being run over by a speeding Jeep.
According to the police report, the unidentified woman was only in Fairfield to visit her family in the area. The pedestrian crossed the Redding Road between about 7:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. when the incident happened.
The suspect immediately fled the scene of the crime, but some witnesses were able to report that the person responsible for the incident was driving a green Jeep Wrangler without a roof and intact doors. It carried a huge American flag from the back of the vehicle. It was noted to speed off north of the Redding Road.
The Fairfield Police are calling on all witnesses to please provide any information they may have in connection with the incident.
