One of the easiest to use and fun to be on social media apps is Instagram. This photo posting app has taken the world by storm. It is merely growing in popularity while still adding new features (stories, anyone?), stickers, gifs, videos, etc. While the seas of posts are fun to look through and interact with there are certain things that you would want to avoid doing while you are on the app.
This was a way to drum up interaction back in the day. A person would like a post and comment “like for like?” or “please like back” or something like that. Please don’t do that. It is fairly outdated, and it slightly guilts people into liking your post. Is that what you want? A pity like?
Instead, interact with the post by not just blinding liking it making a meaningless comment. Say something related to the content or merely complement it. This shows that you are a person and the fact that you are putting in the effort to interact with another account can make the owner intrigued by you. Therefore, they may check you out or even like one of your posts back. It may take a bit more effort but that is the point of a social media account is to interact and react to other people.
Getting people to follow you is awesome. This does not matter if your account is for business or fun but getting people that like what you post and want to see more is grand. And following other accounts is fun too.
However, if you want to grow your followers then don’t do that thing where people would follow an account. And then wait for them to follow back, and then quickly unfollow before they notice. That just makes you look really bad. If you want a high follower count then check out Ingramer instead of being rude.
Instagram is a place where you can share what you do or what interests you. But do not steal someone else content, including Google images. If you must, absolutely must, your family’s life, your pet’s existence depends on it, then make sure that it is clear that it is not yours. Ask permission from the artist before you post their work on your account but make sure that you tag them in it and mention them in the caption.
If you are using their work as a reference for your drawing then make it clear too. Artists are overprotective of their work, which makes sense, so give them a heads up and wait for them to give you the go-ahead. And respect their decision if they say no.
Regarding Google images, again mention that it is a Google image. You can also play around with the colors and work on it in Photoshop just to add your spin to it.
Instagram is a fun place and hopefully, the points above will keep it as such. And remember to be creative or just plain old you.
