The rent-a-car company has had to pass an independent audit of its protocols against COVID-19 with regard to prevention and health and hygiene measures. The implementation of digital information points in branches, online pre-registration and digitalization of contracts all reduces contact time with users to a minimum.
Record go, a rent-a-car company with Mediterranean roots, continues its commitment to safe, quality tourism in Spain with the “Safe Tourism Certified” seal. It’s a new seal from the Spanish Tourism Quality Institute (ICTE) for the guarantee and implementation of the Health Risk Prevention System against COVID-19. The company is the first rent-a-car business in Mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands to obtain this recognition for all its branches in Spain, located in Alicante, Barcelona, Bilbao, Ibiza, Madrid, Málaga, Mallorca, Menorca, Seville and Valencia, after successfully passing an external audit by the independent certifier SGS.
The company has obtained this distinction thanks to its fulfilment of the required protocols from the Ministry of Health and the additional implementation of its own “Go Safe” plan, with preventative hygiene and disinfection measures against microorganisms, both in vehicles and all its offices. These protocols ensure exhaustive cleaning and disinfection of both the interior and exterior of the car as well as the keys. Special attention is paid to particularly exposed areas, such as the steering wheel, seat belts, handbrake and indicators. Once the protocol is finished, the vehicle is sanitized and sealed until it is to be used again.
This set of adopted measures is applied to the whole vehicle rental process. In fact, the company has chosen to digitalize processes with the aim of minimising contact between people, especially during vehicle collection and return. For this reason, it has promoted online check-in and the digitization of its contracts, as well as the use of the “Just Go Box”, digital information booths Record go has in place at its offices. These allow users to quickly, easily and transparently process, without having to interact with anyone, the necessary documentation for vehicle collection.
The offices are safe spaces for workers and users thanks to the adoption of measures such as capacity control, respecting the safety distance, the installation of safety screens at counters and the use of individual protection material for workers and customers.
The company’s managing director, Juan Gascón, explains that “at Record go, we’ve strengthened the safety standards we already had in place, incorporating the requirements of public bodies and new procedures which respond to our users’ demand for safety. We want our customers to travel safely and with complete peace of mind, which is why we’re going to continue championing quality and personal safety in tourist and urban mobility”.
