The Department of Health announced on Friday, “As of 9am 27 March, a total of 113,777 have been tested, 99,198 negative.”
There are now 14,579 people across the UK with coronavirus. The UK total deaths now stands at 769, up by 168 in 24 hours, up by 31%.
Public Health Wales announced another six people had died in Wales, taking its death count from 28 to a total of 34, whilst 80 new cases test positive fir coronavirus in Wales, taking the total to 921.
Northern Ireland’s Public Health Agency confirmed three more people had died there after testing positive for coronavirus, taking its total to 13.
Northern Island have also seen another 34 cases reported, bringing the total number to 275.
The Prime Minster tweeted, “Over the last 24 hours I have developed mild symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus.
“I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus.
Hancock said via Twitter, “Following medical advice, I was advised to test for Coronavirus. I‘ve tested positive.
Professor Yvonne Doyle, medical director at PHE, confirmed plans were in place for “a million tests that people can do themselves.”
